15 minutes
I’ve been thinking about this idea for a couple weeks. 15 minutes.
2 weeks ago, I was re- reading Max Hsu’s blog(IMO, one of the best blogs on creativity out there), and I came across posts where he wrote about his 15 minute “challenge”. For him, spending 15 minutes a day on the things that he wants to improve creatively was a smash hit success, and look at him, he’s done almost everything in life that he’s wanted to- and he’s not even that old.
Most days, I have time sitting around that I don’t use effectively. I bet I have an hour free on most days, and on the days I don’t, I can probably rework things to make one free hour. I’m working on a plan on how to use it. How about:
15 minutes with Jesus
then 15 minutes with my camera
then 15 minutes drawing/painting
then 15 minutes working on a relationship that’s important to me(other than Jesus).
then 15 minutes writing/blogging.(gosh, it wasn’t hard to go over an hour!)
As I finish writing this, I’m sitting here thinking about the possibilities. Thinking about how many days I go without doing any one of these things, and how I feel on the days I do/don’t. It’s quite a contrast, and I’m thinking maybe there’s gonna be a David’s 15 minute challenge. Sure, I may spend way over 15 minutes on some of these things on most days, because these are the things I love. I’ll start tomorrow, and in 1 week and 1 month, I’ll let you know how it goes.
